On-Site Crankshaft Grinding Services
Do you want to minimize costs and equipment downtime?
Choose on-site machining as an alternative to crankshaft replacement.
At INJEGOV, we provide expert on-site crankshaft grinding services for marine, industrial, and power-generation engines. Our portable equipment and specialized technicians deliver workshop-level precision directly at your site—minimizing downtime, saving costs, and restoring your engines to optimal condition without removing the crankshaft.
What Is On-Site Crankshaft Grinding?
On-site crankshaft grinding (also called in-situ or in-place machining) is the process of repairing and restoring crankshaft journals and crankpins directly inside the engine block. Using portable, high-precision grinding machines, our team reconditions worn or damaged surfaces without dismantling the entire engine.
This method ensures quick turnaround, reduced logistics, and minimal disruption for vessels, plants, and heavy machinery around the world world.
Our On-Site Crankshaft Grinding Process
Inspection & Assessment
We begin with a thorough inspection of crankshaft journals and crankpins, checking for ovality, scoring, taper, misalignment, and hardness. Crankshaft is also inspected in place for true run (straightness) in order to establish the scope of repair.
Alignment & Setup
Our portable grinding equipment is aligned with micrometer precision to ensure geometry and reference points are accurate.
Grinding & Machining
We restore crankshaft geometry by grinding crankpins and main journals to the correct undersize. If necessary , fillet radii are ground too in order to restore original geometry. All machining is performed under strict tolerance controls.
Quality Control
Measurements of roundness, straightness, hardness, and surface finish are taken at each step.
Finishing & Polishing
Final polishing and roughness adjustment ensures smooth operation, compliance with OEM specifications, and extended service life of the crankshaft.
