HiMSEN 8H32/40 Cylinder Cover Overhaul
As part of the Hyundai HiMSEN 8H32/40 overhaul, the cylinder covers underwent extensive reconditioning due to operational wear and surface corrosion.
Specifically, key restoration works included:
- Machining of all 16 exhaust valve seat pockets to +1.00 mm oversize
- Installation of new oversized exhaust valve seats
- Machining of combustion surfaces to eliminate corrosion damage
- Hydraulic pressure testing before and after repairs
- Installation of valve guides using controlled thermal fitting
- Final anti-corrosion coating and preservation treatment
These procedures restored proper valve sealing, combustion pressure integrity, and heat transfer efficiency. Consequently, overall combustion performance is significantly improved.
HiMSEN 8H32/40 Cylinder Liner Honing
As part of the Hyundai HiMSEN 8H32/40 overhaul, the cylinder covers underwent extensive reconditioning due to operational wear and surface corrosion. Specifically, the following restoration works were carried out:
- All liners were within maximum permissible diameter limits
- Precision honing restored the correct surface roughness
- Crosshatch pattern optimized for lubrication retention
- Surface finish verified for proper piston ring bedding
Therefore, this process ensures reduced wear, stable compression, and efficient lubrication during operation.
HiMSEN 8H32/40 Connecting Rods
All connecting rods of the Hyundai HiMSEN 8H32/40 engine, were fully dismantled and subjected to strict inspection procedures:
- First, deep cleaning and visual inspection
- Then, Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) of critical stress areas
- Measurement of big-end ovality and small-end clearance
- Finally, dimensional measurements and polishing of bearing housing contact surfaces were carried out.
As a result: No cracks or structural defects were detected. All measurements remained within OEM tolerances, allowing safe reuse of all connecting rods.
HiMSEN 8H32/40 Piston Inspection & Reconditioning
Each piston from the Hyundai HiMSEN 8H32/40 engine was carefully serviced.
- Initially, units were disassembled and cleaned.
- Subsequently, they were inspected for cracks, wear, and deformation.
- At the same time, ring groove clearances were measured and confirmed within limits.
- Finally, the pistons were reassembled using new O-ring sealing components.
As a result, all pistons were approved for continued service without replacement.
HiMSEN 8H32/40 Fuel Injection System Overhaul
Fuel system reliability of the Hyundai HiMSEN 8H32/40 engine was restored through a structured overhaul process.
- Complete overhaul of all fuel pumps, including roller assemblies
- Reconditioning and calibration of fuel valves
- Opening pressure testing on a dedicated test bench
- Installation of new internal parts where required
As a result, accurate fuel delivery, efficient combustion, and reduced emissions were ensured.
HiMSEN 8H32/40 Lubrication & Cooling Pump Refurbishment
Both auxiliary pumps supporting the Hyundai HiMSEN 8H32/40 engine were fully dismantled, inspected, and rebuilt with new internal components.
- Lube Oil Pump – Restored to ensure stable lubrication pressure
- Cooling Water Pump – Reconditioned to maintain effective thermal control
For this reason, reliable lubrication and cooling are essential to prevent thermal stress and mechanical wear
Final Outcome
Upon completion of all machining, inspection, and reassembly:
✔ All combustion components restored to OEM tolerances
✔ All rotating parts passed non-destructive testing
✔ Fuel injection system returned to optimal operating condition
✔ Auxiliary systems fully reliable
✔ Components preserved with anti-corrosion protection
Ultimately, the overhauled Hyundai HiMSEN 8H32/40 auxiliary engine is now prepared for extended, trouble-free operation with restored performance, efficiency, and durability.
Operational Value for Ship Operators
A properly executed auxiliary engine overhaul provides:
- Reduced risk of unexpected failures
- Improved fuel efficiency
- Extended component service life
- Greater operational reliability
In conclusion, INJEGOV delivers precision marine engine overhauls using OEM-aligned procedures, advanced inspection techniques, and strict quality control standards.
